The Samurai are the military ruling class of Japan for more than 600 years. They even rose to become the highest-ruling social caste during Edo period (1603–1867). The early term "uruwashii" loosely meaning poet-swordsmen in Japanese, these warriors were both intellectual and strong swordsman who protected their country's legacy through history with honor until modern times when they served as personal bodyguards or advisors for emperors.
Due to their rank, the Samurai could to wear two swords at once and had a very elaborate armor. Wearing two swords, they mainly used a katana or tachi in tandem with a wakizashi.
