Ninja Sword
The Ninjas were the first organized form of secret agents in feudal Japan. Unlike samurai who were part of society, these warriors lived outside recorded history and operated without honor or glory for its own sake - they existed only to wreak havoc at will with their clandestine irregular warfare methods that could not be seen as beneath any honorable man's dignity (even though it might've seemed like something below him).

The Ninjas (or Shinobi) were skilled in combat and stealth. They often disguised themselves as merchants or pilgrims to gain valuable intelligence on enemy movements - this made them very valuable assets during wartime!
The Ninjutsu arts are what make these former mercenaries so dangerous; they can confuse their enemies with false attacks while taking no damage at all if done correctly.
The ninja was known to use the sword in many different ways. For example, they would sometimes put their opponent's attention on them by drawing it and then striking quickly with another weapon like an arrow or shuriken (a type of star-shaped throwing knife). Unlike the Samurai, the sword was just one weapon in their extensive arsenal. Moreover, they many times added extra weaponry to their swords. For example, they could include bow darts near the handle of their sword... Or sometimes, they would conceal a mix of red pepper, iron filings and dust near the top of their scabbard. This way, when they would draw their sword, the red pepper would blindsight their opponents right before they addressed the fatal blow. They could also use their scabbard as a probing device in dark places... or place the sheathed sword against a wall and use its handle to gain a higher foothold.
The Ninja's favourite swords were:
- The Katana
- The Tanto/Kanto
The ninjato sword, although related to the Ninja through its name, only appeared in the 20th century. The first time it was sighted was in a 1956 booklet of Heishichirō Okuse.
Relating to this mystery surrounding the ninjato sword, some people actually dismiss the Ninjas as complete fiction. They're saying the ninjas and their swords in fact didn't exist - or at least not in the form modern popular culture depict them.
